wow just found out that one of my blogpost got featured in the theology degrees online website haha http://theologydegreesonline.com/50-beautiful-blog-posts-on-answered-prayers/… I am very humbled by this, its so nice to hear that I’ve inspired some people. Sometimes i do get people telling me they’ve featured me in their blogs for fashion inspiration( it totally makes my day :D) , but i never thought that I could inspire some people in some other way. It totally feels great and very very humbling.
Sometimes I feel that we are put onto this earth for a reason, it is not to create controversy, gossip or judge others. I’m gonna sound very hippie saying this but I personally feel we are all created to love and live with each other in peace, that’s God’s challenge for us. One way to show our love is to GIVE. You know the saying Give and You’ll Receive… Some of us think that ..oh I’m gonna give this big huge ass present to someone and one day that someone will gimme back a big huge ass present. That’s not actually how it works.
What the saying actually meant is when we give, what we receive is blessings. God has blessed us with many things, family, friends, food, security, shelter and many people out there have absolutely nothing, its our job to give what God has blessed us with and show our love and give it to others , then he’ll continue to bless us with many good things.
I gotta admit, I’ve not been a good giver lately, I always say I’m gonna do something to help the poor and needy but never got round to doing it yet. Yesterday, I walked past a homeless woman and I wanted to give her some cash but I had no money on me so I just gave her some of my apples haha. Her face totalllyyyy lit up when I gave it to her, I felt total joy after seeing her smiley face! I felt like it was already a blessing just making someone smile. So this got me to thinking I should do something now that school’s over, there are many ways to show love and support to the needy:
1.Sponsor a child in Africa or a third world country like Thailand/Cambodia or a country currently suffering from natural disasters. If you are uncertain about where your money is gonna go, I suggest you go there directly and experience it first hand.
2. Donate your clothes to charity thrift stores or directly to the homeless
3. Volunteer at mission trips, elderly centre, childrens’ home
4. Raise funds for a chosen charity
5. Feed the Hungry
So mark your calenders and select a date where you will start to GIVE, especially now that the holiday season is drawing near, it’ll be easier to start giving during the season of giving. Besides everyone deserves a joyful and blessed Christmas don’t they?
Some Bible inspirations:
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
1 John 3:17-18
If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.
He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.
