Can’t stop listening to Ben Harper’s Forgiven
I know its really hard to forgive someone after they’ve hurt you and it sucks real bad when they don’t know how much they’ve hurt you . My philosophy is haters are losers. Some people do bad stuff to others cuz they feel insecure bout themselves that they feel that they need to knock someone-else down just so that they can look and feel better. They are mostly gossipers, hot-headed people, who spend most of their time thinkin of ways to make themselves look better by bringing others down. But in the end its our job to not bear grudges on these people and forgive. One of my fav bible reading, is the book of Sirach. In this book, there’s a lil something bout bearing grudges and forgiveness and I’ll list down a few verses from it.
2 Forgive the mistakes of your neighbor and you may ask that your sins be forgiven. 3 If a man bears resentment against another, how can he ask God for healing? 4 You yourself are a sinner, and if you won’t forgive another person, you have no right to pray that the Lord will forgive your sins.
6 Think about it! Some day you will die, and your body will decay. So give up hate and live by the Lord’s commands,7 the commands in the covenant of the Most High. Instead of getting upset over your neighbor’s faults, overlook them.
9 The sinner causes trouble between friends, sowing discord among the peaceful.
13 Cursed be the gossiper with his spiteful tongue. He has destroyed many who lived peacefully like minding their own business.14 Many have had their lives ruined and have been driven from their homes because of people who meddled in their business. Such unwanted interference has resulted in the destruction of strong cities and the homes of respected people.15 Meddlers have caused faithful wives to be divorced, robbed of everything they had worked for.16 Anyone who pays attention to slander can never find peace of mind.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you,
do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you …
– Matthew 5:44
D0 not judge, and you will not be judged.
Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
